9-14-09 The Weekly Claw

Well, The Crawfish and his family didn’t make the trek down to DC to join the “frickin’ huge” crowd at the National Tea Party, but it looks like the event went quite well. Our family had a mission closer to home. We were at the Army Experience Center at Franklin Mills Mall in northeast Philly, with a few veterans groups, a lot of biker veterans, and the Gathering Of Eagles, for their 9-11 commemoration ceremony and to counter the protests from a bunch of moonbat groups who want the AEC shut down and an end to all wars and kumbaya and live the whole old Coke commercial “I’d like to teach the world to sing” life. Surprisingly enough, only one of the loonies was a Code Pinko, although a large portion of them were members of groups from Noo Yawk, New Hampshire, and other out of the area locations. The junior Crawfishes held up American flags in the windows of the AEC, which drove some of the protesters out of their minds. They were horrified that children would be taught to love their nation and to respect and value the armed forces. They kept on trying to tell Mrs. Crawfish what a terrible parent she was to support the Army and to let her kids do the same. The moonbats want the AEC shut down because it actually has video games and simulators that teens can enjoy instead of hanging out on the street corner, and the teens have a chance to learn character traits such as honor, duty, courage, etc. (oh, the HORROR!) One of the claims is that the simulators and video games show really bloody conflict. Sorry, but the video games are commercially available ones, and the enemy in the sims get hit by simulated PAINTBALLS and sit down to take off their helmets…hardly a bloody mess. Check out the AEC website. It is a first-of-its-kind place, and The Crawfish hopes the other services follow suit. Here’s the good guys just inside the entrance: AEC Entrance 9-12-09 and here is the welcome message in the AEC: AEC Welcome

You’ve gotta give Barack Obama credit for being an outstanding community organizer. Although the American media tried to say that “thousands” or “tens of thousands” attended the DC rally, it took the BRITISH press to acknowledge that there were over a MILLION attendees. Now THAT is a community that’s organized!  Looking at the photos of the event, it appears that there were more people there than for The Immaculate Inauguration back in January. Oh, and the Park Police said the crowd didn’t leave the piles of garbage that the inaugural crowd did.

President Obama travelled to Noo Yawk on Monday to help celebrate the one-year anniversary of the collapse of Lehman Brothers. Of course, he did NOT travel to Noo Yawk to attend the ceremony commemorating the 8th anniversary of the collapse of the World Trade Center towers.

Dan Calabrese strikes again. Today, Dan takes a look at Joe Wilson Mania. Another good read from the second favorite writer of The Swamp’s visitors.

ACORN, the gift that just keeps giving. The couple that released the damaging undercover videos from the Baltimore and DC offices of ACORN have struck again. This time, they visited the ACORN office in Brooklyn, and got the same kind of enthusiastic help there. After the first two videos were released, ACORN claimed that they were “doctored” and severely edited, and have said that the couple committed a felony with their actions. ACORN has also threatened to sue the couple and Fox News.

The Crawfish isn’t going to say that a new ad campaign by the unions is full of falsehoods concerning the Employee Free Choice Act (aka Card Check Bill, aka Union Thuggerization Act of 2009) and its effect on future union workers. Nah. I’ll let the former chief economist of the Labor Department and chief of staff at the President’s Council of Economic Advisors say it for me.

Score a victory for the anti-union forces! Boeing workers in North Charleston, SC, have voted to decertify their union! Their plant is involved with the new 787 jet, which has had setbacks because of union strikes. Workers in the South just don’t cotton to union thugs costing them money and jobs.

Liberals seem to have a default position regarding President Obama. If they cannot counter the opposition on the issues, then say the opposition is a bunch of racists. They used that tactic throughout the campaign, and now that the opposition is getting stronger they feel it necessary to use it again. Heck, it has worked for the world’s greatest shakedown artist Jesse Be The Jackson and the not-so-Reverend Al “Tawana Brawley” Sharpton for all these years, so why shouldn’t it work for The Chosen One? If someone is a radical fascist-socialist, I’m going to oppose them no matter their skin color.

Why is it that everything Barack Obama does seems to have connections to a union and one of his sleazy radical buddies? This time, he’s getting into a trade war with China regarding tires, and the United Steelworkers Union (why are tires made by steelworkers?) and Van Jones are involved. Why don’t y’all check out what Michelle (***sigh***) Malkin has to say about this.

Speaking of Van Jones… The folks over at the Green Party have cemented their position as the wildest moonbats in the political world. Not only have they previously run Cynthia McKinney as their presidential candidate, but now they are courting, yep, you guessed it, VAN JONES for their 2012 campaign!

Get a load of this. Charlie the tax cheat Rangel (D-Harlem), says it was “unfair” of the New York Post to send investigative reporters to uncover his repeated cheating on his taxes. No, Charlie, what was unfair was for you to cheat on your taxes, but I guess that does make you fully qualified as a high-level Democrat.

If y’all come across any weird/stoooopid/strange news stories that might be fodder for The Weekly Claw or The Weekend Claw, e-mail them to me at at1aw_usn@yahoo.com and I’ll consider ‘em. Yes, I will give you newshounds credit.

“I am sick and tired of people who say that if you debate and you disagree with this administration somehow you’re not patriotic. We should stand up and say we are Americans and we have a right to debate and disagree with any administration.” –Senator Hillary Rodham
