7-13-09 The Weekly Claw

Okay, back to the salt mines. Enough of the lazy weekend stuff. There’s issues to discuss and socialists to skewer!

In my last issue, I noted how one of my Senators, John Cornyn of the Great State of TEXAS, supports the people and the constitutional government of Honduras. Here’s the latest statement from his website, and it includes video from the press conference by Cornyn, Jim DeMint (R-SC), Mel Martinez (R-FL), and Tom Coburn (R-OK).

Senator Cornyn is also on the Senate Judiciary Committee that is holding the confirmation hearings for the Affirmative Action SCOTUS nominee. He gave a great opening statement that is almost exactly what The Crawfish would have said if I had been sitting in his seat.

For your gut-busting laugh of the week, we go to The Chosen One. The mouthpiece of TOTUS actually said that the “stimulus” bill “has worked as intended.” So the objective of the “stimulus” was to spend lots of money for absolutely no positive result? Now THAT is “Change We Can Believe In!”

How’s that transparency and ethical government stuff going? Well, one of The Chosen One’s czars (I’m still looking for that position in the Constitution) told auto industry execs to “put nothing in writing, ever” since all notes in meetings that discuss changes in federal policies must be kept as part of the official public record. By doing so, the czar (Carol Browner, former head of the EPA during the Clinton Administration) is now under investigation for violating federal laws…until the Obama-Holder team drops the charges and/or pardons her.

We also heard as nauseum that everyone associated with Obama would not engage in the politics of personal destruction. Well, Townhall commenter “beachmom” found out that Chicago thug politics are alive and well in this Administration. They’ve sent their goons from the extreme leftist group People For The American Way to dig up dirt and attack Frank Ricci, the dyslexic white firefighter at the center of the recent SCOTUS case in which ALL NINE of the current Justices rejected the reasoning of the Affirmative Action SCOTUS nominee that racial quotas are completely acceptable if a hiring entity fears the possibility of a lawsuit from those who didn’t put forth the effort to prepare for a promotion exam.

Remember when the Democrats used scare tactics about the GOP wanting to gut Social Insecurity, Mediscare, and Medicaid? The elderly and Floridians (but I repeat myself) went absolutely bat guano. Well now we have The Chosen One and his cabal in the Congress looking to overhaul health care, and they have already stated that older Americans are just gonna have to suck it up and deal with the infirmities of being old instead of getting proper treatment. The Democrats are going to ration care for the elderly and cause many of them to die prematurely. Where is AARP on this? Where is the outrage? All I’m hearing is crickets.

The scare tactics haven’t just been limited to the elderly. Earlier this year His Majesty King Barack I used them to get the “stimulus” bill passed, warning of a “catastrophe” if it didn’t get voted on before anybody could read it. The tactic worked so well that Senator Babs Boxer (D-the fruits, nuts, and flakes of Californication) is now warning of droughts, floods, fires, loss of species, damage to agriculture, worsening air pollution, etc. if the Crrap-And-Tax bill isn’t passed immediately. Someone needs to let her in on the secret that the temperatures are controlled by THE SUN, and that the head of the EPA has said the bill would do NOTHING to help air quality as long as China, India, and the rest of the world doesn’t pass the exact same thing.

Meanwhile, the Prophet Algoracle has let the cat out of the bag on his Glo-Bull Warming agenda, saying that the Crrap-And-Tax bill passed by the House last week will help lead to “global governance.” Yep, it is all about a kumbaya socialist one world government instead of actually doing something about the climate.

Another edition of The Claw, another nail in the coffin of the Prophet Algoracle’s credibility, as if he really had any to begin with. This time a city in New Zealand is reporting their coldest May ever. This is what happens when sunspot activity is extremely low.

The city whose motto is “Keep Austin Weird” is having a little trouble with their much-celebrated clean energy program. The program, which began 9 years ago, was supposed to sell the clean energy it produced so the regular customers of the energy utility wouldn’t have to pay for it unless they wanted to be part of that program. Well, that energy costs THREE TIMES what the regular power costs, and the latest allotment is 99% unsold, so they’re gonna have to stick the regular power customers with that bill! You see, even the left wingnuts that populate Austin understand one bit of the free market system, and are refusing to pay triple for their power.

The Chosen One has recently appointed John Holdren to the position of Director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, Assistant to the President for Science and Technology, and Co-Chair of the President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology, which is informally known as the Science Czar. Why is this important? Well, Holdren has written a book that advocated mass sterilization, forced abortions, babies being taken from their families and given to others, and a transnational “Planetary Regime” that would assume control of the global economy and also dictate the most intimate details of Americans’ lives through the use of an armed international police force. Is THIS “Change We Can Believe In”? Another tip of The Crawfish’s hat to “beachmom”.

Democrats on Crapitol Hill have their panties in a twist over the fact that the CIA had a secret plan to capture or kill Al-Qaeda leaders in the works during the Bush Administration, and THEY weren’t briefed on it. Well, the plan never got to the operational stage, so there was no need to brief Congress on it, and besides…why would the CIA brief Congress on something that they wanted to keep secret from our enemies? Everyone knows that as soon as the Democrats on the Hill find out about a secret program, the Noo Yawk Slimes gets briefed on it within 12 hours. There is a reason that Senator Patrick Leahy (D-VT) has the nickname of “Leaky Leahy.”

In an interview with Tammy Bruce, Sarah Palin has come out and said what a lot of us have been hoping she’d say. She might be in for an independent conservative movement outside of the GOP. Hopefully, this is just the first little step of something that will explode over the next year. Hmmmm, could it be that she might sign on to be the first candidate for office representing the American Tradition Party?

Somebody needs to get Queen of the House Red Nanny P-Lousy and her Crown Prince, Steny Hoyer, on the same page. Last week, Hoyer laughed at the thought of Congresscritters actually reading the Obamacare legislation before voting on it. The reaction to that statement caused Red Nanny to state that SHE will read it all, and will supposedly give the public ample time to read it themselves before there is a vote. Of course, that “ample time” was not defined, and will probably become the time between 2 AM and the scheduled vote at 9 AM on whatever day she schedules the vote. SHE will be able to read it all, but it won’t be released to the GOP Congresscritters until it is released to the public.

When he was nominated to the unConstitutional position of Secretary of Education, Arne Duncan’s work in the Chicago public schools was lauded by The Chosen One. According to the praise, Duncan had done wonders in raising the quality of education and the test scores of the students in the district, and that made him worthy of his new position. Well, as per usual, Obama lied. A school system that has 70% of its 11th graders not meeting standards is hardly successful. The Civic Committee of The Commercial Club of Chicago, which supported Duncan and Obama, has issued a report that basically says Duncan’s leadership produced squat for results.

For a state that prides itself in liberal ideals and privacy laws, Californication does produce an awful lot of control-freaks and Big Brother government policies. Take the town of Tiburon, for example. The elitists who run that place are considering installing cameras along the two roads that lead in/out of their town, for the purpose of photographing each and every license plate coming in or going out. For once, the ACLU is on the correct side of an issue.

Looks like the Republicans in Congress are starting to fight back against the Democrats and the Affirmative Action Attorney General in the case of the New Black Panthers and voter intimidation. Representative Wolf (R-VA) has fired off 3 letters to the AAAG, but has received no reply, so he is demanding a House Judiciary Subcommittee hearing on the matter. A Justice Department official tried to say that the evidence just wasn’t there to support voter intimidation charges, despite video to the contrary. Representative Brady (D-Filthadelphia), who is the Chairman of the Filthadelphia Democratic Party, said that there was no voter intimidation, especially since one of the intimidators was a card-carrying member of the Filthadelphia Democratic Party Committee. The one charge that the AAAG let stand carries the following punishment: “Minister King Samir Shabazz” is not allowed to brandish a weapon within 100ft of a polling place until after the 2012 election. Yep, all he has to do is keep his nightstick 100.5 feet away, and even then just until after the next Obamelection.

If y’all come across any weird/stoooopid/strange news stories that might be fodder for The Weekly Claw or The Weekend Claw, e-mail them to me at at1aw_usn@yahoo.com and I’ll consider ‘em. Yes, I will give you newshounds credit.
