With the dead pedophile and Sarah Palin dominating the news over the weekend, The Crawfish once again has a short column. There just wasn’t enough Claw-worthy material out there.
Is she committing political suicide, or is the unorthodox maverick also known as Sarah Palin engaging in a bit of genius? The answer won’t be known for a while, and this story won’t go away anytime soon. Palin, who announced that she would resign as Governor later this month, took to the internet site Facebook after her announcement to proclaim that she was going to be involved in something nationally, but gave no specifics. One of the possible reasons for the resignation is the multiple frivolous lawsuits and ethics complaints that she has been facing (and she has defeated all of them!), the fact that those charges have cost the state of Alaska over $2,000,000.00 to produce the requested records, and the legal bills which have added up to over 4 years worth of her gubernatorial salary. Her spokesperson noted that Governor Palin would, through the courts, be going after many people who have publicly defamed her. To do so as a sitting governor would have been bad form, but to do so as a private citizen could strengthen her reputation among her followers. The Crawfish sees a couple of scenarios as possibilities. She could be going on the speech circuit, aligning herself with one of the conservative think tanks, and even possibly getting her own TV show. The alternate plan would be to run for the Senate in Alaska next year, which would give her time in DC and set her up for 2016’s presidential elections.
While the Honduran situation is still in flux, with those who support the rule of law and the Honduran Constitution being opposed by Hugo Chavez, Daniel Ortega, Fidel Castro, the leftist chick running Argentina, the OAS, and the great enemy of our own Constitution…Barack Obama, Hugo the Red decided to show The Chosen One how the fascist-socialist thing is really done by completely taking over the third largest bank in Venezuela, in spite of it actually being owned by a company in SPAIN!
Why is it that almost none of the Republicans in Congress have come out with strong statements opposing Obama’s stance against the constitution of Honduras and the rule of law? Representative Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (R-Florida) is at least speaking out clearly. Now if the other Republicans could only find their voices and their squirrel food.
Calling the Prophet Algoracle and the Gorons! Your man-made Glo-Bull Warming fraud is once again being scientifically proven false. The National Weather Service is reporting that Noo Yawk City just enjoyed its 9th COOLEST June since recordkeeping began over 130 years ago, and coolest since 1958.
While we’re dealing with Noo Yawk, the local head of the American Federation of Teachers is in the news. She did such a wonderful job of completely stifling education reform in Noo Yawk City that she’s being promoted to the position of PRESIDENT of that union! Once again this proves that the teachers unions don’t care about actually educating the kids.
Here we go again with the headlines of Her Bitterness micHELLe ”bringing glamour to Moscow this weekend.” Since when does someone who looks like a former ghetto resident who stumbled into huge money become the epitome of glamour? Was it her combination black widow/Aunt Jemimah dress from the nomination event in Denver?
For the folks who are sports fans, especially tennis enthusiasts, the men’s final at Wimbledon was not only historic, with Roger Federer passing Pete Sampras for the most Grand Slam titles all-time, but it was also one of the greatest matches ever. American Andy Roddick gave it a great run, falling 16-14 in the final set in the only service game he lost in the match.
An influential group of clerics in Iran has now said that I’minajihad’s re-election was not legitimate. Will this have any effect on the overall situation? The protests have pretty much died off, but if more clerics come out against the election, something could come of it.
This bit of news is welcomed by many Vietnam veterans and those who wanted us to actually WIN that war. Robert McNamara, the Secretary of Defense under JFK and LBJ, died Monday morning.
Expect Israeli action against Iran’s nuclear sites sometime later this year if I’minajihad consolidates his position. Gaffes Biden flat-out stated that the US would not stand in Israel’s way if the IDF was going to make such a strike, and the government of Saudi Arabia has signaled that they would possibly turn a blind eye toward IDF aircraft flying through Saudi airspace to do so.
Retired NFL quarterback Steve McNair was murdered over the weekend. McNair, who played 13 seasons with the Houston Oilers/Tennessee Titans and Baltimore Ravens, was married with 4 kids, but was killed by his Iranian-American 20-year old girlfriend, who then committed suicide.
Here’s more proof that just because someone is extremely rich, it doesn’t necessarily follow that they don’t have lots of screws loose. The British billionaire who heads up the Formula One racing series believes dictatorships are a good thing! Of course, he’s in good company, as a good friend of his, the president of the Federation Internationale de l’Automobile, is the son of the 1930s leader of the fascists in Britain.
Chocolate City Mayor Ray “School Bus” Nagin appears to have deleted a year’s worth of e-mails to prevent federal investigators from seeing them. Corruption, thy name is Democrat.
Just about every time The Crawfish hears something out of the mouth of Representative Peter King (R-Noo Yawk), I am pleased. Over the weekend, he gave a statement regarding the death of Michael Jackson and the non-stop media attention to that story. It really is too bad that we don’t have more Congresscritters like him.
We all know that The Chosen One does not believe in American patriotism. It therefore should not come as any surprise to y’all that his base of operations, Crapcago, Corruptionois, prefers soft-rock as the music of choice for the city’s Independence Day event and fireworks. Traditional American patriotic music? Naaaahhh!
Bawney Fwank (D-gay bars of Taxachusetts) now wants all of the TARP money that actually gets paid back to the government to be immediately SPENT instead of returned to the Treasury. How does he want it spent? Free housing for the leeches upon society’s arse, of course. Gotta keep the core Democrat voters happy!
Okay, Monday afternoon Mrs. Crawfish and I went to see the Sandra Bullock-Ryan Reynolds movie “The Proposal.” I was warned that it was a pure CHICK FLICK, but while it did have chick flick moments, it was actually a very funny movie, especially Betty White’s role.
If y’all come across any weird/stoooopid/strange news stories that might be fodder for The Weekly Claw or The Weekend Claw, e-mail them to me at at1aw_usn@yahoo.com and I’ll consider ‘em. Yes, I will give you newshounds credit.
