Even Better Than Hitlery! Care!
The fact that John Edwards, who almost single handedly sued the OB/GYN part of the healthcare industry out of North Carolina, is making healthcare proposals is laughable. Then, once you see some of the details, you find it's completely ludicrous!
TIPTON, Iowa - Democratic presidential hopeful John Edwards said on Sunday that his universal health care proposal would require that Americans go to the doctor for preventive care.
Uh, what part of the Constitution gives you the right to require me to do ANYTHING?
"It requires that everybody be covered. It requires that everybody get preventive care," he told a crowd sitting in lawn chairs in front of the Cedar County Courthouse. "If you are going to be in the system, you can't choose not to go to the doctor for 20 years. You have to go in and be checked and make sure that you are OK."
By whom? A government doctor? Sorry, but I've been dealing with those quacks for the past 17.5 years...ever since I joined the Navy. Many doctors go into government service because they can't pass the state licensing exams. Some have failed multiple times, and done so in multiple states, but the US government says they're good to go!
He noted, for example, that women would be required to have regular mammograms in an effort to find and treat "the first trace of problem." Edwards and his wife, Elizabeth, announced earlier this year that her breast cancer had returned and spread.
How long did ya really think he could go without trying to use the sympathy card?
Edwards said his mandatory health care plan would cover preventive, chronic and long-term health care. The plan would include mental health care as well as dental and vision coverage for all Americans.
"The whole idea is a continuum of care, basically from birth to death," he said.
Yes, we know the Dim-ocrat Party wants complete control over every aspect of our lives from birth to death.
The former North Carolina senator said all presidential candidates talking about health care "ought to be asked one question: Does your plan cover every single American?"
"Because if it doesn't they should be made to explain what child, what woman, what man in America is not worthy of health care," he said. "Because in my view, everybody is worth health care."
Then it is up to THEM to get their own health care insurance! If they don't feel the need, then they don't have to do so. If they're in good enough financial shape to not require medical insurance, then they don't have to get it. What part of the Constitution allows the government to have anything to do with how we pay for our health care? That's a PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY!
Oh, and it's not HEALTH CARE, it's HEALTH CARE INSURANCE!
Edwards said his plan would cost up to $120 billion a year, a cost he proposes covering by ending President Bush's tax cuts to people who make more than $200,000 per year.
a) Which means it will cost more like $300 billion per year by year 2 and will climb at a 20% rate yearly from there!
b) And you're going to 'pay for it' by raising taxes, which means you're going to 'pay for it' by REDUCING the amount of money coming in via tax revenue. What a mental midget!
